Staff and students of Dudley Sixth, along with their family and friends, came together last week to celebrate individual student achievements at our annual Celebrating Success awards evening. The event marks the outstanding individual performance and effort by the class of 2022-23 during their A Level studies.

Under the guidance of tutor Stephen Dutton, newly enrolled Musical Theatre Level 3 student Amabelle Lewis was on hand to entertain guests on arrival with a fantastic performance.

Subject tutors presented awards to their learners throughout the evening, commending their hard work, resilience, and academic ability. Twenty-nine individual winners were honoured on the night, including:

  • Kenneth Phebeni, who achieved an A and two Bs in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Kenneth came to Dudley Sixth from an international school and now he’s received his results, he plans to enrol at Aston University to study Chemical Engineering. Kenneth praised all of the tutors at Dudley Sixth, saying he found it an amazingly supportive environment, that allowed him to settle in quickly.
  • Similarly, Lauren Thompson whose outstanding achievements in English Literature were applauded, praised the culture of Dudley Sixth saying: “The support from my classmates and teachers has helped me get the grades I needed to progress to Liverpool University, to fulfil my ambition to study Law. I’m so grateful.” Lauren joined Dudley Sixth from Ellowes Hall Sports College, choosing to study Law, English Literature and Criminology as her A Level combination.
